Traveling to Sri Lanka is now easier than ever! Tourists can conveniently apply for their visa online through the official Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) portal: eta.gov.lk. This quick and hassle-free process allows travelers to obtain approval before their journey.

For restricted countries, obtaining a tourist visa prior to arrival is mandatory. However, travelers from most other countries have the option to apply online in advance or get their visa on arrival at the airport.

As part of the free visa scheme, visitors from India, Russia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand can obtain a visa at no cost upon arrival at the visa counter. For travelers from other countries, visa fees remain the same as of April 16, 2024:

• USD 20 for nationals of SAARC countries
• USD 35 for visitors from all other countries
• The visa is valid for 30 days and allows travelers to explore the beauty of Sri Lanka without any hassle.
